Maruti Suzuki brought the Celerio to its family in February 2014 in petrol variants adding diesel and CNG models later in 2015. The Celerio is a spacious hatchback with the automated manual transmission EZ Drive technology which sets a benchmark in its price segment for most of the competitors, not just that but it also stands first in the list of most fuel efficient cars. As its tagline goes ’Life takes a leap’ Maruti has also taken a leap in the forward direction with Celerio’s all new DDiS 125 four cylinders 998cc diesel engine. This is the car to replace the Zen Estilo and the A-Star.

With some prestigious awards like Entry hatchback of the year, Mid-Size hatchback of the year the Celerio is still 3.6-metres long, 2.4-metres wheelbase, 1.6-metres wide and 1.5-metres high. The CICO (Curve In Curve Out) styling, as Maruti calls its design makes it more aerodynamic and simultaneously gives a new look to be a car desired by many. The Celerio is also equipped with ORVM-Turn indicators and front fog lamps.
The 14-inch alloy wheels give it a ground clearance of 165 mm with stunning appearance. Maruti has put in a lot of efforts in re-designing the front as the grill and the headlamps give it modern aesthetics but the tail is similar to its ancestors. It comes in five different colors to choose from.

The Celerio provides enough space with the all-new XpanDesign for spacious and comfortable rides on every drive in the front as well as the rear. The 60:40 split flexible rear seats can make room for the excess luggage on tours as well. The infotainment system is also taken to the next level with advanced features like steering mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity, multi info display, electric ORVMs and much more. The dual-tone dash adds a credibility to the car.
The safety concerns are also taken care of as the car is equipped with ABS and Dual front airbags for all models. Many more accessories approved by the company are also available.

Not just the aesthetics are new but also the engine. The K-Next engine is specially designed for Indian surroundings and along with drive by wire technology the outputs it provides are astonishing optimized compression ratio, reduced frictional losses, low viscosity engine oil also the redesigned valves and springs lead to better fuel efficiency.
Celerio comes in Petrol, Diesel and CNG fuel types. The petrol engine is a 998cc lightweight aluminum engine with three cylinders and four valves in each cylinder and gives 67 hp at 6000rpm and 23.1 Km per Litre of gasoline. While the diesel is 800cc 47 hp at 3500 rpm and 125 Nm at 2000 rpm which gives the mileage of 27.6 KmpL. The CNG variant runs at 31.7Km per Kg of fuel. The Celerio gearbox is a 5-speed manual and also automatic transmission.
