Maruti Suzuki upgraded its Omni with Versa and further in the multi-utility vehicle segment introduced a tougher Eeco. It is a spacious looking MUV with not so much space. The new body graphics are an add-on to its powerful and balanced style. It can be called as the budget car as it is a lot of car for the price. An excellent option for large families and multi-purpose use. Maruti has rolled out the Eeco in two versions the 5 seaters (A/c and non-A/c) and 7 seaters. Being a non-power steering Eeco is considerably smooth. The Eeco is good for play as well as work this is what makes it multi-utility.

Being an MUV Eeco has the elegant body design compared to its predecessors like Omni. The car is well designed for long tours with many family members or friends in comfort and safety. The frontal look is a great design for a vehicle with the height that of the Eeco. The sliding doors at the rear with new graphics give it an upper hand for better utility. The newly designed clear head and tail lamps give it enhanced visibility and fashionable look. The headlamp leveling feature adds to the safety of the vehicle. The Eeco is equipped with an acceptable quality dashboard but has the air conditioner and the accessory socket making it convenient to keep stuff. The legroom is good but the headroom is perfect.

The entertainment in the vehicle can be done with a music system with radio as well.

Maruti has not just concentrated on the looks and styling but also taken care of the power the car needs for being a multi-utility vehicle. The Eeco is available in 1.2-liter four cylinder 1196-cc engine which gives 73-bhp at 6000-rpm and 101-Nm torque at 3000-rpm. The Eeco has the new aluminum engine to reduce weight and increase performance with MPFI technology.

All the variants of Eeco have rear drive, 5-speed manual transmission with diagonal shift assist (DSA) for easier gear shifting and rack and pinion steering mechanism. The 40 liters fuel tank capacity is enough even for short tours as the mileage the vehicle provides is 15.1-KMPL. The EMS (Engine Management System) provides great drivability and reliability to the engine.
