Royal Enfield Interceptor is one of the most popular classic bikes of Royal Enfield which has been relaunched recently. Coming from an era when all that was important was that the sun was out and the surf was up, it has retained its age-old charm. The bike is powered by an air-cooled parallel 650 twin. The Interceptor has a 7’’ headlight, twin front and quilted two seats. The narrow teardrop tank has a classic badge and topped with a Monza-style fuel cap. The bike also has a duel cradle frame with a rear loop that comprises the core.
New Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Design & Features
The first twin-cylinder engine of Royal Enfield comes with a parallel twin configuration with a 270-degree firing order. It produces 47 bhp and 52 Nm at 7100 rpm and 4000 rpm of power and torque respectively. There is no facility for liquid cooling but oil has an indicator and fuel delivery through a Bosch injection system.
Royal Enfield has retained its easygoing character which has traditionally been its USP. The bike comes with a six-speed gearbox and braking system with single discs from front and rear and ABS will be standard. The design of the bike resembles the original Interceptor. The plus point is that design is that the generic Brit classic bike with no real distinctive features. Available in silver or orange with a two-tone scarlet/black also. There will be numerous accessories.
The twin motor of the bike is a completely new unit and operates using the latest SOHC technology, four-valve head and a single piece forged crankshaft with a balance shaft that ensures better refinement. The bike has a 270-degree firing order which gives it the features of a V-twin motor such as a better low-end torque.

The bike is powered by an all-new 650cc and air-cooled parallel twin engines with the oil cooler for better performance. The bike is suitable for city-riding and highway-cruising. It can deliver a power of 47 PS of power at 7100 rpm and has a peak torque of 52 Nm at 4000 rpm. The bike has a speed of 120-135 kmph. The gearbox of the bike comes with a ‘slip/assist’ clutch which offers a satisfactory riding experience with a light feeling and checks wheel-hop while downshifting gears.
The Interceptor is furnished with a time-tested ‘tear-drop’ fuel-tank, twin seat and wide braced handlebars. It retains a number of features such as headlamp and fuel tank apart from the feat which has a new dual side exhaust muffler.
