Volvo XC60 Expert Review
Volvo XC60 Expert Review - Check Advantages and Disadvantages
Cross SUVs have become a favorite choice for many drivers because of their utility. Volvo XC60 is one of the newest models of cars from the small luxury crossover segment to be launched in the market. The car comes with a number of interesting features such as the City safety system which automatically brakes it to check or avoid low-speed collisions.
The car has two available 2.0-liter engines which are known as T5 and T6 trims. The first is turbocharged and offers 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The latter on the other hand is turbo as well as supercharged. It generates 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The front-wheel drive is normal on T5. T6 is an exclusively all-wheel drive.
Volvo XC60 Exterior
The wedge profile of the car is unique and has smooth surfaces which blend with few rakish angles. Its beltline is swept up and it can handle a surprisingly large volume of cargo. The upscale fascia houses a grille which is normally seen in large SUVs. It is flanked by high-mounted headlights which are adorned with T LED light graphic.
The hood has a relatively straight line to the windshield’s base. The beltline angles up instead of continuing in a length-improving straight-line. The rear quarter-windows of the car are smaller and the liftgate is canted forward in a more expressive manner.
The car’s wheelbase has been stretched to 3.6 inches. The overall length is up to 1.8 inches and therefore the overhangs have been trimmed. The vehicle is 2.1 inches lower than before and is slightly wider. Therefore, the car has a more stylish look compared to older models. The panoramic sunroof is a feature present in all XC60 models. The car has a dashboard design, bladelike air vents, TFT instrument cluster and vertically oriented touchscreen.
Volvo XC60 Interior
There have been considerable changes in the interior portion of the car. Natural driftwood offers a slightly washed out, silver-grey look without losing a strong grain. One can feel the wood’s texture below the light protective coating. It has been used sparingly to ensure that the interior looks neat and uncluttered. There is a good looking ribbon of wood across the door and center console. On looking closely at the dash from the side of the passenger, you will come across a Swedish flag stamped on the aluminum which stretches from the edge of the driver-side cockpit to passenger door. This is a smart way to disguise the break-in trim.
The car will be equipped with a 9.3-inch touchscreen, something which it has in common with the 90 series. But this feature has been updated using larger fonts. It also has the collision avoidance capacity up to 31 mph, oncoming lane mitigation which warns in case there isn’t sufficient room for passing and steers an unseen pedestrian around. The blind-spot detection with steering assist will be an optional feature.
